The Captain of the ship

Founded by Nwabisa Makumule in 2013, Lumamu Consulting officially commenced trading in 2018.

Nwabisa holds a BTech in Public Relations Management with a focus on Communication Studies and Reputation Management. She is also qualified in Project Management and Graphic Design. 

Before establishing Lumamu Consulting, Nwabisa gained extensive experience in both government and corporate sectors, including roles at the City of Cape Town and Protea Hotels by Marriott. Additionally, she worked as an event project manager for leading event management agencies.

With a robust background in event management, Nwabisa has been instrumental in executing a range of high profile industry events. Her notable achievements include successful contribution to the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, the Up the Creek Music Festival, and the Decade of the Artisan National Roadshow.

Nwabisa’s passion for events is matched by her impressive achievements and dedication to empowering others. In 2020, she was honoured with the South African Heroines Award in the category of Women and Community Empowerment. As the founder of the Sister-Sister Business Network, she created a vital platform for women entrepreneurs to exchange their experiences and foster trade among themselves. Additionally, Nwabisa contributes to the BRICS Skills Development, Technology & Innovation Working Group, where she supports the South African Chapter in organizing and executing skills competition events.
