The Director

Nwabisa Makumule

Nwabisa holds a BTech in Public Relations Management majoring in Communication Studies and focussing in Reputation Management from the Vaal University of Technology. She trained in Project Management from Wits University and Graphic Design from the AAA School of Advertising. Having taken up several positions within the Communications industry, Nwabisa has over 10 years’ experience in managing stakeholders in diverse industry projects.

Nwabisa gained field experience from both private and public sectors. From her early career days where she worked for the City of Cape Town Municipality, she was part of a team responsible for the design and delivery of the City’s communication strategy. She then moved to work as a communications officer for Women of Farms Project, a Non-Governmental Organisation, working with women in commercial agriculture in the Western Cape. Before her decision to go into business full time, Nwabisa worked for the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services SETA (merSETA) where she was responsible for stakeholder relations management, social media, sponsorship, brand management and events management.

Nwabisa’s passion for youth and women empowerment saw her becoming the 2020 recipient of the South African Heroines Award in the category, Women and Community Empowerment. She is also the founder of the Sister-Sister Business Network, a national platform for women in business to share their experiences with those who are still growing in business. The platform also allows for women to trade among themselves. Nwabisa has broadened her industry experience by taking on challenging project roles such as Community Engagement Facilitator and Socio-Economic Specialist. Nwabisa consults as a project manager on various industry projects. She is also an event MC and inspirational speaker who appreciates topics related to customer relations management, entrepreneurship, youth, and women empowerment.
